The Oral Medicine and Radiology department plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis, medical management, and oral care of patients with oro-facial diseases. This branch encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases in conjunction with systemic health conditions. Thorough case histories, examinations, and investigations lead to precise diagnoses. Treatment plans are carefully crafted, and patients are referred to specialized departments for advanced care. The department’s focus areas include orofacial pain, Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), mucosal diseases, Oral Cancer screening, diagnosis, and complications of cancer therapy, salivary dysfunction, and oral manifestations of systemic illnesses. Comprehensive investigations, including radiographs, play a crucial role in achieving accurate diagnoses.
- Infrastructure: The Oral Medicine and Radiology Department boasts state-of-the-art dental chairs and advanced diagnostic equipment. Intraoral cameras and chairside investigative tools are utilized to enhance diagnostic accuracy. The department is equipped with two intraoral radiography units, a cutting-edge digital extraoral radiographic unit, and a well-equipped darkroom. Services encompass intraoral periapical, occlusal, and bitewing radiographs, as well as extraoral radiographs such as Orthopantomogram, Lateral Cephalogram, and TMJ radiographs.
